WIFE GETS FIVE-YEAR JAIL FOR POURING HOT WATER ON HUSBAND’S MISTRESS.–(3 Minutes Read)

From the news update culled by “www.wordsmithscribe.wordpress.com from “www.punchng.com” on the 1st of November 2017.

A woman has been jailed for five years after pouring boiling water over her husband’s mistress after walking in on the pair in her marital home.

Monika Fourie, 34, threw hot water from a cup and then a kettle unto Hannah Stokes in 2015, causing burns to her head, neck and chest.

Polish-born Fourie was convicted by a jury of causing grievious bodily harm with intent following a trial at Plymouth crown court in October.

Passing sentence, Judge Paul Darlow said:

“It was a repeated assault on the same victim in two parts, quite separate”.

“The throwing of boiling water from a cup you were holding and then returning and picking up kettle and throwing that over Hannah Stokes”

The judge said he did not believe Fourie had carried out a premeditated attack on Miss Stokes.

“It involved the use of a weapon and involved, in my judgement, the intention of causing a more serious injury than was inflicted”.he said.

“The throwing of boiling water out of a cup was not a spontaneous act and it followed the boiling of a kettle and the absence of any intention to make a cup of tea”.

“What followed added to excruciating pain she had already suffered. She was cornered and begging you to stop”.

“You were pulling her hair up,trying to expose her face and you poured the kettle of boiling water over her”.

“That’s what I mean when I say your intention was to cause more serious injuries than you did”.

Fourie broke down in tears when she was led away in handcuffs from the dock to begin her sentence.Family and friends, including her mother and brother who sat in the public were also crying as she was led away.

THE EVIL OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

The court heard Miss Stokes had begins an affair with Fourie’s now ex-husband, south African-born Royal Marine Wouter Fourie,in the summer of 2015.

Days before the attack,Mr Fourie has confessed to the extra-marital relationship and the defendant had left their home in Plymouth to stay with a friend, but unexpectedly returned on the night of October 24.

Miss Stokes had been invited around by Mr.Fourie to watch South Africa play in the Rugby World Cup on Television and was sitting on the sofa when the defendant returned.

Fourie said she was going to make a cup of tea but instead poured water from a cup over Miss Stokes.

She then returned to the kitchen picked up the kettle and went back to the lounge, where Miss Stokes was screaming and grabbed her by the hair and tipped the remaining contents of the kettle over her.

Miss Stokes was treated for second degree partial thickness burns down to her navel and had surgery for a perforated eardrum.

This incident happenned in the earlier hour of the day as it was gathered that the cry for help of this woman attracted the attention of highway sweepers who are busy with their work very early in the morning.

This alert made the highway sweepers to call the attention of other people passing along the area and immediately swift action was taken by the people passing along the road when the sighted the innocent woman being dragged forcefully into the manhole.Members of the Odua Peoples’Congress swung into action and intercept this ritual killers by preventing them from carrying out their heinous crime.

ritualist den 1

At the end, two people were caught and jungle justice was instantly carried out against them by setting them ablazed.Efforts by two Policemen from preventing mob actions being carried out against the suspected ritualists was abortive with one of the Policemen sustaining injury inflicted on him by the crowd who are hell bent on setting them ablaze.

It was gathered that it took the combined efforts of officers of the Nigeria Military and Nigeria Police force is persuading the surging crowd from carrying out mob actions on the other three suspected ritualists who were caught in a uncompleted building that the manhole led to.

At the end, two suspected ritualists were lynched by the angry mob while three were left for the Police for further investigation.

ritualists-den-3

It is appalling how the stories of kidnapping and ritual have been a part of our national existence for a long period of time and nothing meaningful has been done to curtail this act of barbarism in our society.

The inordinate quest for money, materialism and mudanness have been trace to be the major root of this anomaly in our society and this has caused many innocent victims to loose their life.

Their is a need for our society to develop a control mechanism that will be effective in asking people for their source of sudden wealth.

Also, our security agnets must be up and doing in applying survellaince mechanism that will help in investigating and nabbing criminals in the society.

Without all these mechanism being put in place, many innocent people will end up being a victim of ritual killers that are extremely desperate to be influential in the society.

In the 21st century, it is wrong for people to be sacrificing human parts for purposes that are evil.Any society that is still existing based on this babaric act is a society that has lost value and put no premium on the essence of humanity.

There is an urgent need for every one in the society to be security conscious and make sure that any funny characters in the society is reported to the appropriate security quarters.

Security is the responsibility of every Nigerian.

NEWS EDITORIAL:ERA OF DISMISSAL IN THE RANK AND FILE OF THE NIGERIA POLICE.—(3 Minutes Read).

The waves of dismissal in the rank and file of the Nigeria Police is a confirmation of the decadence, rotteness and corruption that have been a permanent reality in the Nigeria Police for many years without any form of control of the excesses of larger percentage of these Police Officers.

Not quite long, about four officers were dismissed for offenses that have to do with illegal extortion by officers of the Nigeria Police in Lagos and fews days after,it was reported that another four officers guarding the home of the former President of Nigeria–President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan were found guilty of theft and they were culpable of the offence after they were tried in an orderly room proceeding.

The dismissal was announced by the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Police Command which was in line with First Schedule of Police Act and Regulation 370 Cap 19.

The dismissed officers are:

  • Sgt.Musa Musa with force number –436691
  • Sgt. Gabriel Ugah with force number–425210
  • Sgt. Ogah Audu with force number–261898
  • Sgt.John Nampak with force number–235422

These officers have been alleged to have stolen some valuables from the residence of the former President located at No.89,Fourth Avenue in the Gwarimpa District of Abuja.According to the FCT Police Public Relation Officer, Anjuguri Manzah, efforts have been intensified to arrest one Mallam Shuaibu, who is an accomplice and presently at large.

The FCT PPRO further stated that the dismissal was in compliance with the vision of the Inspector General of Police(IG), Ibrahim Idris, to rid the Nigeria Police of Crime and save the image of the Police.

The dismissed officers were alleged of theft that  was conducted by systematic looting carried out over a period of three months beginning from March 2016 until they totally stripped the house of all movable items, which they sold to dealers at the Panteka second hand materials market in Tipper Garage Gwarimpa.

This simply confirmed that there is a lot of bad eggs in the rank and file of the Nigeria Police that must be cracked and trashed.

Just yesterday,I observed a display of indiscipline on the part of some officers of the Nigeria Police while I was on my way home.It beats my wildest imagination and reasoning when I observed the reckless usage of siren by these officers. They were held down in a traffic jam in Ogba towards sunday market and all they could do to ease the traffic jam was to blare siren at high decibel needlessly.

This shows that their knowledge of the impact of noise pollution to their immediate environment is low and they are oblivious of the fact that they are committing a crime by becoming a public nuisance.

Without any iota of doubt, their knowledge about environmental impact assessment of noise pollution is low with the way the siren disturbed residents and all other predestrians that plied the route yesterday night.

It is quite appalling when a security agency saddled with the responsibility of maintaining law and order are the one breaking law and order without blinking an eyelid. This is simply a display of impunity that must be frowned against by all reasonable Nigerians.

Kudos to the Inspector General of Police–Ibrahim Idris for taking the bull by the horn but more indisciplined officers needs to be looked out for and flushed out without any resistance or hesitation.

gej 3

The questions on my mind is that:

Who is saintly among the rank and file of the Nigeria Police?

If the momentum of the dismissal of erring Police Officer is maintained and upheld reasonably to an extent, I hope Nigerians will wake up one day with the reality of having no one putting on a Nigeria Police uniform again because the rank and file of the Nigeria Police have little or nothing to show and proof of  being a credible security agency.

No matter the reality, lets maintain this status quo of punishing and dismissing indisciplied and erring Police Officer but it must not be by dismissal alone , it must be followed by prosecution by a court of Law.

EDITORIAL:RENAMING THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE—- A DEVIATION FROM THE RIGHT PATH.—–(4 Minutes Read).

At this point in time in the history of our national existence where all that is being obtained on the corridor of power can be submitted to be a deviation and a digression from what is expected from a country that is clamouring to be classified as one of the top economy in terms of development in near future.

All around us are so many issues and myriads of challenges that are begging for attention and all round solutions but it is applalling that our approach to give a lasting meaningful solutions to these challenges seems to be a mirage and a hard nut to crack.

Someone can never be wrong in asserting that our legislative arm of government–upper chamber and lower chamber are not in anyway performing optimally in putting the entire nation on the path of national rebirth and development.

From this,it will not be a disservice to Nigeria as a whole if someone try to dissociate himself or herself from the macabre dance our leaders are known for with mediocrity being on display without any pause and control.

One of the main security outfit in Nigeria that needs total rebirth and urgent overhauling is the Nigeria Police Force. It is a security outfit that is shaddled with the responsibility of protecting the entire citizenry with basic statutory function and duty of maintaining law and order across the length and breadth of the country.

Renaming 1

It is quite disheartning that the recent realities of the unprofessional and inimical conducts of many officers within the rank and file of the Nigeria Police Force seems to be an abberation of what is expected in terms of standard of operation SOP of our Police Force that might end up giving birth to national development of every sectors of the Nigeria Society that has been eluding the entire citizenry for a long period of time.

Instead of fashioning ways by which Nigeria Police Force will be people friendly with their performance in curbing crimes and vices to be a top notch among all other security outfits in Nigeria, it is quite disappointing that our refferred senators of the red chambers embarked on a naked dance in the markets by merely changing the name from Nigeria Police Force to Nigeria Police.

The question is:

Will this renaming give birth to a security outfit that is professional enough in diffussing the waves of criminalities and social vices that has been rearing its ugly head in terms of extremism, terrorism, political thuggery, militancy, financial crimes and frauds and all other vices that have eating deep into the fabrics of the Nigeria Society.

Nigeria Leaders need to buckle up and fasten their seat belt in being reliable, responsive and responsible in toiling on the path of reasoning by engaging in intellectual approach that will douse the waves of insecurity that seems to be defeating any reasonable solutions in recent times.

Our legislative arms of government are expected to pass bills on the floor of the National Assembly to proffer workable solutions to the issues of insecurity that our Police Force seems to be struggling to find solutions to.

Renaming 3

Nigeria Leaders should up their games in being proactive in their legislative duties by promulgating laws that have direct impact and impart in tackling the myriads of challenges being faced by the masses.

Renaming the Nigeria Police Force is nothing but a show of low understanding or utmost lack of understanding of what is neccessary to take Nigeria as a country to the realm of development that will make Nigeria to be referenced and recognised in the comity of Nations.

This is simply a deviation from the right path.

Trending Topical Editorial on Kidnapping.

No one residing in Nigeria either foreigners or Nigeria citizen can deny the upsurge of a particular form of criminality that the Nigerian Society has been struggling with over a long period of time.

Many victims that are lucky and fortunate to experience this kind of act of babarism and inhumanism are still living with the scar, injury and the psychological effect such an experience placed on them while others that are unfortunate are beneath the earth surface.

Recently, there was a breakthrough as one of the notorious kingpin of kidnapping that has been been declared wanted over a long period of time by the Nigeria Security Operatives was caught at the Magodo Phase 2 area of Lagos State and the news of his capture with all the accompany confession that followed suite has engulfed all the social media spaces with every news media houses having one thing or the other to present as news and editorials about the capture of a guy named CHUKWUDUBEM ONWUAMADIKE aka EVANS.

It was the popularity of this event and the reaction of the Nigerian populace that propelled “mysimplelittlethought” to present an editorial.

The editorial goes thus:

Without any serious resistant in nibbing the bud of your--(EVANS) enterprise, conglomerate of criminality and kidnapping with your monstrous extremism in putting tears on the face of many innocent Nigerians, the long arm of the law caught with you and you are now looking for a subtle way to seek public sympathy that will end up leading to public empathy.

The most worrisome of the issue on ground is how deep the reasoning of many Nigerians have been eroded to the point of giving support to the senseless parroting serial confessional statement linked to you–EVANS.

How did our value and virtues got infected with viruses to the point that we are now giving credence and credibility to an extent whereby we see criminality and vices as a culture and criminals are been elevated as celebrities.

evans-the-kidnapper 2

This simply conotes and imply that values and virtues inherent in the fabrics of our society have been torn into shred with no one that is capable of sowing it.

Meanwhile, if some of us are reasonble enough, we ought to understand that nature has a way of rewarding every deed whether it is active or passive.

Some of us have forgotten that we might be the next target to be pinned down by this dare devil criminals that have been escaping the trap of Nigeria Police for a long time.If the long arm of the law has not caught up with him, many Nigerians would have been caught in the web.Only God knows who is the next victim?

It is painful and appalling seen what the Nigerian society has turned into and we are always swift in pushing blames to our leaders on a daily basis forgetting that we ought to rermove the log in our eyes before pointing to the specks of wood in another man’s eyes.

They are everywhere. In both public and private spaces, we have many devils that are supposed to be caged and lowered into the abyss of perdition.Once they occupy a position by sitting down infront of a table with chairs, they always go to any length to perpetrate evil with many being thrown into discomfort, agony and anguish because of what they will gain as a form of tip, bribe and all round personal aggradizement.

If you have spent and apportion any moment of your lifetime supporting and sympathising with this dare devil and his family, think and imagine a moment whereby you will end up becoming a victim of kidnapping or any of your relatives and family members been in a kidnapping den for a second, it is then you will realise that giving support and sympathy for such a crime is an act of injustice and inhumanity.

No reason is substansive, tangible and reasonable enough for anybody to support and empathised with the devil because a day has been assigned and apportioned for judgement but if you are doing it, no doubt about it ,you might end up sharing in the judgement that will be reeled out to the devil one day.

We need to develop our society right from ourselves. If you look at some of his confessions, you will realised that he is a victim of many inadequacies our society is known for.

Often times than none, broken families breeds kidnappers and criminals but in rare cases and through the intervention of God with determination on the part of some of the parties and stakeholders, some broken families produce great minds that ends up becoming great men.

A society that is propelling towards achieving eggallitarianism in all her concept must be developed from the confines of the family structures because the family is the microcosm of the society. The family is the foundation and the pillar of the society.Once the foundation is faulty and the pillars are having cracks, the societal structures will end up dilapitating and collapsing without any doubt.

There is a need for all and sundry to see to the development of a society that frown against criminality to the extreme and shun any approach inform of ideas and philosophies that fan the amber of vices in the society. No society can be assumed to get it right until the families in such a society gets it right and it is from this that the products of a right family will contribute their quota immensely to build the right society that will cultivate and nuture seeds that will produce the best of great men and women that seemed to be getting decimating in this present days of ours without any control and approach to curtail this swift decimation.

No society can function appropriately, efficiently and effectively with many people been attracted to criminalities and vices.Vices and criminalities are viruses, caterpillars and cancerworms that will do nobody no good in a society. They are anti-developmental, retrogressive and anti-social that is destructive with accompany pains and pangs that will felter its nest for eternity except its swift movement is curtailed and punctured with sensitisation, correction, education and the provision of agenda that are targetted towards making our society safe and free from the grip of ciminality and social vices.

No to domestic violence!!!—(3 MINUTES READ).

Marriage was covenanted and instituted to be enjoyed but not to be endured.God instituted marriage with a covenant for the purpose of enjoyment and procreation right from the beginning of time.

Just as everything in existence on the surface of the earth faced a kind of paradigm shift after the fall of man as a result of sin committed by Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden,so also the institution of marriage have its own fair share.

Though, the issue of domestic violence in its variety has been in existence from time immemorial but the upsurge of its occurrence recently is mind-boggling and mind blowing  and heart melting.

To an extent the institution of marriage is expected by divinity to be respected and maintained carefully by all the parties involved due to the vows and covenant it is premised and founded upon but nobody can deny the deviation in the context and concept of the institution of marriage  as it is obtainable  recently cutting across race and tribe globally.

There have been stories of battering, emotional and psychological abuse with maiming and killing in so many marital institutions recently which is a deviation of what is expected to be the outcome of the institution of marriage.

The scripture frowned against divorce but the scripture is also not in support of any marriage that will endanger the lifes of the parties involved.

Without mincing words,no marriage is worth dying for no matter how rosy or roughened the marriage might be.

It is better to part with your life intact than to part with your life snuffed out in the course of managing or maintaining any marriage. due to the negative orientation and the stigmatization of our society viewing divorce and separation as a sacrilege and a taboo especially in African Society.

DV 2

Once any trace of sinister and threat to life started showing its ugly face in your marriage, you should not be floppy and sluggish in calling it quit because nothing is worthy enough to be mortgaged or used in replacement for our life.

Life is sanctimonious and sacrilegious above everything in existential on the surface of the earth. It is expediently expected for everyone as a custodian of life to do everything reasonable to protect the life given by God.

DV 1

Without any iota of doubt, successful marriage can never be obtained on a platter of gold.It requires selflessness and sacrifices that is devoid of self-centredness.All the parties involved need to be responsible and responsive to physical, spiritual, financial, emotional and psychological needs and necessities of the family because irresponsibility and irresponsiveness of one partner triggers the abuse and violence and the effects of this ends up destroying the beauty of the institution of marriage.

Life is good.

Protect yourself .

Don’t be careless about your life.

Life is beautiful.

No to domestic violence!

No to violence against women(VAW)!!

Every form of domestic violence is anti-human and it is cancercerous and malignant to the existence of humanity.
