I will tell him, Mr. President, you have tried your best but resign.—Bishop Adeleye.

CALABAR – Most Rev. Tunde Adeleye, the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of Niger Delta, Anglican Communion, in a chat with newsmen in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, said if given an audience with President Muhammadu Buhari, he will “first of all, commend him for what he has done so far but urge him to resign.”

“I will tell him, Mr. President, you have tried your best but resign. If he asks why I am asking him to resign, I will tell him because people working with you are bad and are not telling you the truth. All of them are not good. If you resign, you will put them to shame. They want to spoil your good name,” Adeleye said.

The clergy, who is also the Bishop of the Diocese of Calabar, Holy Trinity Anglican Church, spoke during a press briefing for the 2019 Synod of the Anglican Communion.
He spoke on a wide range of issues covering the church and the nation at large.

He said,

“Nigeria is ripe enough for restructuring. The present structure is obsolete and cannot carry us far. The restructuring will affect some old structure of Nigeria’s socio-political and economic policy. It will involve honest dialogue. There is now injustice, marginalization, resulting in a failing state. We, therefore, need to ‘redesign’ Nigeria.
