Why did Grace Mugabe attacked Model Gabriel Engels with an electrical extension in Johannesburg?

Zimbabwe’s former First Lady Grace Mugabe faces a second allegation of assault after she was accused of beating an employee at the family’s Harare mansion.
Mrs Mugabe, 53, is said to have become enraged that her 95-year-old husband gave the housekeeper a cash wedding gift, punching and striking the woman about the face with a shoe until blood gushed from her wounds.
Mrs Mugabe, sometimes known as “Gucci Grace”, is already wanted in South Africa on separate charges of attacking a model who had been drinking with her sons in Johannesburg.
Shupikai Chiroodza was formally employed by the government at State House, Mr Mugabe’s 10,000 square meter official residence which he built 15 years ago but chose not to live in.
However, the newlywed maid was seconded to the Mugabes’ private residence and claims she was assaulted there on 13 March.
“She started shouting at me and seized me by the neck and pulled me inside the house and locked the door,” Mrs Chiroodza said in her court application
“She started beating me with clenched fists shouting, ‘who do you think you are here, you are milking my husband behind my back.’
“She removed her shoes and continued assaulting me with them and blood started gushing out of my forehead, mouth and nose.”
She told her lawyer, Doug Coltart, that Mrs Mugabe told her to return the cash wedding present and not to tell anyone about the events of that day.
The former housekeeper, who has a newborn child and whose husband is unemployed, said she had never been fired and wanted her job and benefits but had failed to persuade Mr Mugabe’s administration to reinstate her.
She was also rebuffed, she claims, by senior civil servants employed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa who came to power via a coup d’etat later in 2017.
“She tried all the avenues she could to get her job back. It is unusual as a labour case as we have argued she was never fired. She was just told not to come back to work,” Mr Coltart said.
He said the matter was being handled by the civil division of the Attorney-General’s office.

Mrs Mugabe allegedly attacked model Gabrielle Engels with an electrical extension chord in a Johannesburg hotel nearly five months after her clash with her housekeeper.
Mr Mugabe is still in Singapore receiving medical treatment, according to members of the family in Harare. Mrs Mugabe recently returned to Zimbabwe.

Why Pastor Tunde Bakare slapped Miyetti Alah?

Serving Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on Sunday, described as shameful the Presidency’s attempt to put herders’ group, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria, on the same social status as the Yoruba and Igbo socio-cultural bodies, Afenifere and Ohanaeze Ndigbo, respectively.
Bakare made his position known in a sermon in the church in Ogba, Lagos State.

He said it was more shameful for the Presidency to exclude the North’s socio-cultural organisation, the Arewa Consultative Forum, from its illogical comparison.

Speaking on “The sign of Jonah, the prophet,” the cleric led the congregation to pray that Nigeria would vomit “bandits, killers, kidnappers, cattle rustlers, killer herdsmen and looters” to round off his sermon.

He stated, “It is shameful for anyone to compare Miyetti Allah with Afenifere. Such person cannot be in his right senses to think that Miyetti Allah and Afenifere and Ohanaeze are the same.

“How can a group that has been rated as the fourth most deadly group in the world by the United Nations, a group of terrorists, be the same as Afenifere?

“How can a group that kills people, rapes women, destroys houses be on the same scale as Afenifere? Do Afenifere members carry weapons?”

Bakare argued that the exclusion of the ACF from the comparison by the Presidency was deliberate, in order to put the northern group on a higher scale above Yoruba and the Igbo groups.

He added, “And to show the true colour of the person doing the comparison, he left out the ACF from his comparison as if that one is above everybody else.

“If you have to put Afenifere and Ohanaeze on the same scale as Miyetti Allah, why did you exclude the ACF? Is it not to tell everyone that the ACF is superior to other groups in the country?”

The cleric submitted that bandits, kidnappers, cattle rustlers, killer herdsmen and looters had become the commander-in-chief of the nation, owing to their overwhelming presence and the inability of the relevant authorities to stop their activities.

Bakare said, “It is evident that the bandits; criminals, killing people every day; those kidnapping people over the place; and cattle rustlers and killer herdsmen terrorising the people are in charge in this country; they are the commander-in-chief.

“Nobody seems to know what to do anymore; the terrorists are in charge. They have even extended their regime to these areas. They now kidnap lecturers; doctors are no longer safe.

“The whole nation is under the control of terrorists. But in the name of the Lord, Nigeria shall be delivered. I shall witness the deliverance and greatness of Nigeria.”

Do you know that Parenting is filled with cover-ups?

While I was busy with some domestic chores today, she kept running around happily as usual and I was busy with my mind thinking about zillion issues at the same.
At a point she ran towards the spot where I was observing my domestic obligations shouting ‘daddy’ at the top of her voice but when I asked her,she said nothing.
I  shook my head and smiled.
This was how it happened in 1992 in the middle of the year while I was in JSS 2 that my parents separated.
Before the ugly experience, all I think in my small mind was that my parents are having it cool, good and rosy with the relationship but not knowing that both have been having strain since 1989 while I was in Primary 5.

mothers day.jpg
Kudos to them because they were able to keep it to themselves without allowing any one of us to have an inkling of what lies ahead of us.
To cut the story short,it was rough and raw later but I realized  that we were scammed and prevented from having a knowledge that all that glitters is not gold.
Someone might be asking me the reason why parenting is filled with zillions of cover ups.
Our parents are gods and gold that should be appreciated till eternity for how they were able to cope with the demands and rigors of parenting.
They were secretive in keeping the realities of parenting from us and they were able to manage themselves until many of us grew up to the point whereby we become a parent too.
Is it moments of loneliness, extreme thinking, debt, shame and reproach accompanied with self-denials that warrants commitments ,dedication, perseverance and maturity that cannot be explained and expressed to us while we were growing up?
The selflessness and sacrifices laid down by our parents are out of this world.

mothers day 1.jpg

Some laid their dreams, aspiration and vision aside to give us a life that we have today without giving us an inkling of what it takes for them to mold us till this present moment.
Parenting is a journey of sacrifice and selflessness having it wrapped in commitment and dedication that cannot be relayed to us while they were passing through the fiery furnace of standing in the gap for us.

Many  parents were denied comforts and conveniences of life in order for some of us to have life.
What about the days of nakedness and hunger that many parents passed through for their wards to have a meaningful life?

mothers day 2.jpg
What about the days of anguish, pain and agony they passed through, and they kept it to themselves but they made us to have our life being rosy without any form of  discomfort been on their faces.
In spite of all these, our parents still ensured and advised that some of us get married so that they can have their grandchildren, even some parents go out of their ways to borrow money so that we can settle down on time.
Parenting can be assumed to be a scam in the sense that the responsibilities and the demands are kept away from us by our parents.
They made us to believe in the rosiness and beauty of marriage so that many of us will not be discouraged becoming a parent in the future.
They were able to keep and bottled their challenges and scuffles within the confines of their rooms but they always act their scripts perfectly whenever they noticed we were around which made some of us to lack the inkling of what the reality of life is as it relates to parenting is concerned.
This is the reason whenever we loose any of our parents, we always fill their vacuum because they were extraordinary in shading and covering the other side of parenting that is filled with regrets, challenges and emotion.
They are good actors that acted their scripts well by keeping from us and preventing us from having a feel and a touch of the realities of parenting.
Double thumbs up to our parents for been matured enough to give us  make over beliefs that parenting is sweet but at this moment, something tells me that I have been scammed to believe that parenting is rosy, cool and good.
Not that I am passing through any challenge but my personal observation and present realities made me to see in practical form that parenting is nothing but selflessness and sacrifice.
These days I have to leave office on time so that I would be able to meet up with my daughter in order to help with her assignment and to see her face before she goes to bed.
It is on the note of today being another mothers’ day celebration that I present to you that parenting is filled with scam and cover up that are orchestrated by our parents in order to live a sacrificial and a selfless life that is necessitated by their efforts to leave a legacy for their children.
With all humility,I dedicate this piece to all responsible parents, good mothers, ladies and women that I have come across my paths.
HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY TO:
Mrs JNM FADEYI,

Can you imagine AKPABIO fooling Nigerians?

The past Senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio has asked a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to suspend its judgement on an application seeking to vacate seats of 54 federal lawamkers who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akpabio also prayed the court to allow him to respond to the suit that was filed by an advocacy group under the aegis of Legal Defence and Assistance Project, LEDAP which has applied for the refund of salaries and allowances of lawmakers who defected after their election into the National Assembly.

In a swift move, the Senator, few days to the judgement date for the suit, filed an application insisting that he was not consulted before any lawyer was appointed to appear for the matter.

The Senator said he was not informed by the clerk of the National Assembly or even personally served with the said suit.

Informing the court that he only read about the case in the Newspapers, Akpabio said, the suit was not a class action and he was at liberty to use a counsel of his choice and to personally defend himself.

In his response, the judge over the matter, Justice Okon Abang, said he was minded to accede to Akpabio’s request.

Justice Abang noting that his decision was based on the provisions of Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, said since the matter was not a class action, Akpabio’s right to fair hearing would be affected if the matter was decided without his input.

Furthermore, Akpabio argued that he never defected from the PDP to APC.

The Senator said he only moved into the APC after the PDP “was flooded”.

In his reaction, Justice Okon Abang ruled that the matter be adjourned for Tuesday, May 14, to enable the parties involved exchange their addresses.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that 15 senators, including Dino Melaye and Abdul-Azeez Nyako, announced their defection at the Senate plenary on Tuesday, July 24.

The list containing the senators’ names was handed over to Bukola Saraki, the president of the Senate, who managed to get to the plenary after a reported blockade at his residence by Police officers.

President Buhari is angry with Nigerian Elites.

President Muhammadu Buhari has frowned at the inability of the Nigerian elites to address the welfare and educational needs of the less-privileged members of the society.

The president made his feelings known when he hosted Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Ministers, Service Chiefs, Heads of Security Agencies and Chief Executives of Federal Government Agencies and Institutions to a breaking of fast at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President Buhari said he was upset with the level of poverty in the land, challenged the elite to do something very urgent to ameliorate the pathetic situation.

He stated that already Federal Government had introduced people friendly programmes like the School Feeding and `Trader Money’ to alleviate the hardship being experienced by the less-privileged individuals across the country.

He, therefore, commended the Vice-President for successfully managing the school feeding and `trader money’ programmes.

“When I drive around the country what upset me very much is the status of our poor people in this country – you see young people, the so-called Almajiris with tore dresses, with plastic bowl. They are looking basically for what to eat.

“The question of education (to them) is a luxury. I think Nigerian elite we are all failing because I think we should have a programme that will at least guarantee some basic education for our people no matter how poor they are.

“So, I welcome the Vice-President initiate of the School feeding programme. If you check in your localities the enrolment into schools improved because a lot of children can get at least one good meal a day. This is the position of this country.

“But, culturally some of us are quite merciless, we don’t care about what happen to others we just keep on moving forward.

“This `market money’ I warned the Vice-President I don’t like him to be mobbed, especially the way I see hefty women coming and confronting him, he should be very careful.

“These are very good initiates. Initially, I was quite reluctant but I must admit that they are very good programmes and they endear this government to a lot of poor people because of these N5,000 or N10,000 being given to them as loans.

They are fantastic programmes and I have to admit quite honestly that the Vice-President was ahead of me by insisting on them.

“But he knows me if he insists I will say `okay go and do what you like.’ He did it and I’m very pleased as he is being very successful,’’ he said.

Vice-President Osinbajo, who spoke on behalf of the members of the cabinet, thanked the president for inviting them, both Muslims and Christians, to the breaking of fast with him.

He said that regardless of ethnic and religion affiliations Nigerians must continue to be their brothers’ keepers and must work towards building a united nation.

He, however, condemned some politicians, who were bent on dividing the people along ethno-religious lines.

On the Ramadan period, Osinbajo said: “Mr President I must say that there are some reasons I had always look forward to the Ramadan session. But some of those reasons are now being seriously challenged.

“The first of those reasons is that during the Ramadan meetings are usually very short. But, unfortunately last Wednesday Mr President seemed to have destroyed that very good notion by taking us through the longest FEC meeting in the history of the Federal Executive Council.

“So, we shouldn’t expect anymore that meeting will necessary be short during the Ramadan.

“The second is that some of my friends are far less troublesome during the Ramadan. People like Lai Mohammed, Abba Kyari, Adamu Adamu they are usually very well behaved during the Ramadan. But I’m not even sure that that is true anymore.

“So, I think that all we can truly expect now from the session is possibility what it was meant to do which is to remind us of some of our responsibilities to ourselves as brothers and to our fellow men/women especially our roles as leaders.

“I think is auspicious that this particular Ramadan falls at the eve of the new term in office.

“So, it is an opportunity for us to remind ourselves over the core mandates which is the welfare and security of majority of our people,’’ he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that those, who joined the president for the fast-breaking meal known as Iftar, included some heads of federal government agencies and institutions.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority, Alhaji Yakubu Ibn Muhammed, and the Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Abdullahi Mukhtar, were among the dignitaries at the event.

Meanwhile, General Yakubu Gowon, Nigeria’s former head of state, on Monday, May 13, paid a visit to President Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

At the time of filing this report, the actual reason for the visit was yet to be known, but photographs from the Presidential Villa confirmed that the duo actually met.

Gowon and Buhari both served in the Nigerian Army rising to become military Generals.

Sanusi in dilemma! What a turn of fate!

There are indications that an ongoing probe by the state government’s anti-corruption agency could lead to charges being filed against the the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Daily Trust reports that Sanusi’s status as the only first class emir in the state was whittled when the state government balkanized the emirate, carving out four new emirates and appointing first class emirs to rule them.

Legit.ng gathered that the exercise which lasted only two days, fuelled speculations that the government was going after the emir over his rumoured support for the opposition during the recently concluded governorship election.

The fresh investigation by the Kano state public complaints and anti-corruption commission as well as the bid to appoint new first class emirs by the state assembly kick-started almost simultaneously last week.

According the newspaper, the source in the commission, who craved for anonymity, on Saturday, May 11, said that the ongoing probe on by the commission was targeting the emir, noting that, ”it will reach to a point where the commission will transfer the case to court for the emir to defend himself. After our findings, whoever is found wanting in misappropriating the public funds will be dragged before the court.”

It also stated that a government source disclosed that Emir Sanusi, after sensing trouble at the turn of events between the state government and the palace lately, sent business tycoon, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to beg the governor to have a change of mind.

“I can confidently tell you that when the probe was renewed and the move for creation of four new emirates in the state started, the emir sent the renowned business mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to Ganduje to plead with him to stop the two moves.

“However, Ganduje in his response told Dangote to go back and tell the emir that he should choose from three alternatives: To resign on his own or be removed from office or the government will create additional emirates in the state.

“Ganduje assured Dangote that one of the three options must be implemented by government since the emir will not stop playing partisan politics against him. If not for the quick intervention by Dangote, Ganduje would have dethroned the emir,” the source revealed.

However, the source added that even though the governor has spared the emir being removed from office, there is likelihood that after the turbaning ceremony of the four new emirs, Ganduje will transfer the emir to another emirate and replace him with one of the newly appointed emirs.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that some heavily armed policemen were reportedly deployed to the palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and the residents of some senior council members of the Kano Emirate.

31 Years old Nigerian died in Germany.

Police officers were “harassed and attacked” while trying to retrieve a body from the Regensburg asylum center on Saturday, German authorities said.

Emergency services were called after a 31-year-old Nigerian woman died in the building. The cause of death was unknown and a “topic of police investigation,” but there was no immediate indication of foul play.

When the police tried to take the body out of the building, some 40 to 50 residents engaged in a standoff with the officers, threatening them and then pelting them with glass bottles and stones.

“A part of the residents of the facility responded with increasing emotions to the presence to of the investigators,” police spokesman Dietmar Winterberg said. It was not immediately clear why the situation escalated, but police said one explanation was linked with the fact that the officers barred them entry to the area where the woman had died.

The standoff ended after some three hours, with strong police forces deploying to the Regensburg home. The authorities eventually managed to take the body out of the home. No injuries were reported.

The 31-year-old Nigerian left behind three children between the age of nine and three. The children would now enter the state child care system.

The Regensburg facility is one of several so-called Anker shelters across Germany which serve to house the asylum seekers until their status is resolved, and they are either relocated to local communities or deported.
