Why are they still missing?

It has been five years now since the news of kidnapping of Chibok girls by Boko Haram became a source of National concern to the entire human race.

Till now, the scar of this level of inhumanity still remained an eye sore to the human race.

Since then the campaign for the release of these School Children has remained active in Nigeria with the slogan

“Bring back our girls–BBOG.

The question is:

Have they being brought back?

Either yes or no!

Let’s dedicate this piece to the lost children scattered all over the world including the remaining Chibok Girls and Dapchi Girls especially LEAH SHUAIBU.

Like every other day,
Early in the morning,
In preparation for a new day,
In readiness for school,
She packed her bag ,
Bid daddy and mummy goodbye,
Hopeful to see them later in the day,

As fate will have it,
On the 14th of April 2014,
She became a victim of circumstances,
With other colleagues in the school,
Like a cattle, she was whisked away ,
To an unknown destination by Boko Haram insurgents,
She became a victim of terrorism.

Like wild fire, the news of this dastardly act consume every tabloid,
It became an international issue, it became a political issue,
Leaders all over the world were caught unaware,
Nobody knows what to do to salvage the situation,
Chibok community was thrown into wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Daddy and mummy kept biting their hands,
Regretting and lamenting the fate of their lost children,
Had I known I would have stopped her from going to school,
Filled the mouth and mind of many parents.

Promises were made to salvage the situation,
Diplomatic steps were taken to bring back our girls,
Every nooks and crannies of the world was engulfed with protest and anger.

The world spoke with one voice,
‘Bring back our girls’
Day by day the clock kept tickling,
Days started counting,
nothing has been done.

Just like yesterday,
Five solid years have gone bye,
Daddy and mummy are still hopeful of the safe return of their girls,
As usual, our leaders are still making promises to bring back our girls.

I kept asking questions,
Is it a curse for someone to come from this part of the world?

How can our children turn out being a victim of unknown circumstances.
Five years of separation, Five years of staying with strange landlords,
Five years of living with terrorist,
This is the worst form of crime .

I pray that divinity will intervene in the situation on ground.
Parents on the surface of the earth,
Mothers and father’s should spend today praying for our mother earth and for their children.

None of our children will end up being a victim of negative circumstances.
None of our children will end up being a victim of kidnapping.
Till all Chibok girls  and Dapchi girls returns.
Our mouth shall be filled with one sentence,
Bring back our girls.

Dedicated to the missing Chibok girls and Dapchi Girls,

LEAH SHUAIBU is still wailing for freedom in the hands of her captors.

Dedicated to the loss children all over the world.
This one is for all the loss children —-Lost children by Micheal Jackson.

Conversation with my daughter–Episode 8

Let’s off the TV.She requested.

Let’s go to bed.I want to sleep on time.

After some time, she made the request again and I agreed with her when she began pestering me to put off the TV so that we can pray and go to bed.

The TV was off by me.

Let’s pray before we go to bed.She requested.

I want to pray. She requested again.

Then,I and my beloved agreed with her to give us prayer before we slept.

Then, she started praying and we started chorusing ‘Amen’ in unison as she kept praying in her own way and she offered the best prayer point in accordance to her ingenuity.

And finally, she concluded her prayer with ‘IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME’we prayed and we chorused a resounding ‘AMEN’.

Thereafter,I started making jest of her about the contents and the quality of arrangement of her petitions to God which is quite childish but meaningful and simple.

We all started laughing and at a point I asked her who taught her how to pray.

Who taught you how to pray?

It is you.She replied with boldness.

Me!!!When was that? When did I sat you down and taught you how to pray?

You always pray like that. She submitted.

I kept mum immediately but I was happy and fulfilled knowing fully well that she has been picking some of my prayer points in accordance to her understanding and she tried making use of it while she was praying.

It was at this moment that it dawned on me practically and realistically that parenting is not about having kids around or being called dad or mum but it is all about influencing little ones God has blessed us with.

Infact, once the needed prerequisite influence expected from anyone standing as a parent is out of place, such a parent has missed it and failed in his or her capacity of being a parent.

A parent is an influencer that must be sensitive to whatever he or she does in the presence of his or her kids.

Parents stand as a guide, guard and a mirror to their children. Whether they are tutored and trained verbally, orally and consciously, our children are always there listening and grasping the information at their disposal of which parents are the closest trainer who are always there to show them what they need at a particular point in the process of time.

The rate and frequency at which kids of nowadays pick signals from us is at the speed of light.

Whether you are conscious or sensitive to it,your kids are watching and assimilating any step you are taken. You might be unaware of it but the day they will stand as a witness to your actions and inactions, that’s when it will dawn on you that your kids are your monitoring camera that are ready to relay and replay whatever you might have done in there presence.

Parenting is synonymous to influence. It is one of the major channels potent and pregnant enough to help the upcoming generation to learn and unlearn.

Anyone who desire to be a good parent must be ready to be a good influencer.

This placed a lot of responsibilities on parents, whether foster parents or not, and everyone who desire to stand as a parent at any moment to learn and understand what parenting is all about.

Parenting is a culture and a lifestyle that should be inculcated accompanied with the ability to make it as a source of process that should be enhanced and ensured to raise complete human beings that have matured mind, body and soul.

It is when we have kids that are prepared with necessities that will make them a perfect human being by their parents that the world we live in can start to turn in a direction whereby everyone will be conscious and sensitive to the need to build an egalitarian society whereby everyone can have a sense of belonging.

In conclusion, every parent should ensure that a beautiful future is built for their young ones so that the future of a peaceful world can be achieved.
