‘Buy this and you become JLo’: Jennifer Lopez’s engagement ‘dress’ is a stunning two-piece creation by Australian boho brand SPELL – and it costs just $328

Jennifer Lopez was wearing a $328 ensemble by Australian brand Spell when her fiancé Alex Rodriguez proposed in the Bahamas on Saturday.

The 49-year-old American singer shone in the Seashell Organic Tie Top ($139) and Skirt ($189) by the Byron Bay-based label, which posted about the exciting news on their Instagram account.

‘We love a good love story! Congratulations JLo,’ they wrote.

Some of the business’ 981,000 followers on social media took the time to share in their shining moment, which will no doubt boost their sales exponentially, by saying everyone should ‘buy this and you’ll become JLo’.

‘Oh my god could you get any better publicity? You guys have worked so hard you deserve it,’ one person said.

‘Congratulations Spell for playing a part in a beautiful love story. JLo will forever remember this outfit on this very special day,’ another said.

The best news is that the skirt is currently still available to buy on their website in sizes small, medium, large, extra large and xxlarge.

Sadly the matching top, which is made from 100 per cent cotton, is currently sold out.

‘We were so humbled to wake up to see the beautiful JLo posting her engagement story to her Instagram feed – wearing our Seashell Organic Tie Top and Ruched Skirt,’ the team at Spell told FEMAIL.

‘We love JLo and are very happy for her and Alex. We were made aware by a Miami stockist that she purchased the set recently, and were flattered.

‘We are thrilled to see one of our beautiful sustainable fibre pieces being worn by a celebrity as incredible as her.’

Pictures show former baseball player Alex Rodriguez getting down on one knee on the beach in the Bahamas on Saturday.

The 43-year-old is seen placing the large emerald-cut diamond, estimated to be worth around $5 million, on Jennifer’s left hand after she said yes.

The singer covers her mouth in shock as she looks down at her husband-to-be as well as the impressive rock.

The songstress captioned the images on Instagram simply: ‘3.9.19’.

The ex Yankees player also shared a sweet message on his Instagram stories addressing the happy occasion.

‘There aren’t many words to share with you, only feelings. Gratitude. Excitement. And just… joy. We know there is work to do to keep building a family and future we can be proud of, and we can’t do it without all of you,’ he said.

‘We are so thankful for all your messages of love and congratulations.’

While Jen’s engagement ring is quite the sizable rock, during the proposal A-Rod wore his World Series ring from 2009 which was hard to miss and almost upstaged the proposal.

Jennifer and Alex have been dating for two years and have long hinted they did see a wedding in the future, though have been allowing things to unfold naturally rather then rush into an engagement.

The actress recently told People they ‘think about getting married… it will happen naturally when and if it’s supposed to.’

Having been married three times already, Jennifer explained she wanted to be absolutely certain the fourth time would last before accepting a proposal.

‘I rushed into three different marriages. At this point I want to be sure.’

A-Rod’s marriage to Jennifer would be his second, having been previously married to Cynthia Scurtis from 2002 to 2008.

They share daughters Ella Alexander, 10, and Natasha Alexander, 14, who have clearly grown close with Jennifer and her children.

Jennifer has 11-year-old twins Maximilian and Emme with her third husband Marc Anthony, whom she was married to from 2004 to 2014.

Jennifer was first married to Cuban waiter Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, and in 2001 tied the knot with her former backup dancer, Cris Judd.

She got engaged to actor Ben Affleck in 2002 after meeting on the set of Gigi but they called off their engagement in 2004 just before the wedding.
