MLST CELEBRITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT:Rappers who died under suspicious circumstances

www.Mlst.blog

There’s long been a correlation between rappers and violence. The underlying reasons for this connection aren’t as easy to identify as some would like to think, but the truth of the statement cannot be denied. According to a piece in The Conversation, not only do rappers have the shortest life expectancies of performers across all musical genres, but more than half of all rappers’ and hip hop artists’ deaths are murders. That number is shocking. In fact, it’s more than 40 percent higher than the genre with the next highest mortality rate, electronic.

While these numbers alone are hard to believe, in 2015, XXL magazine took a closer look at 63 murdered rappers and found that more than 40 of those cases were still unsolved. MLST CELEBRITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT:Rappers who died under suspicious circumstances

One of the reasons why is because many of these rappers died under suspicious circumstances. Whether there were no witnesses or just no witnesses who were willing to talk, no evidence or conflicting evidence, too many rappers have died without anyone being punished.

Let’s take a look at some of the highest-profile rapper deaths and the odd details surrounding around their murders.

Scott La Rock and the shooting that changed hip hop

There was more than a decade of relative peace in the hip hop scene from the time it was born until August 27, 1987, the day Scott “La Rock” Sterling died from gunshot injuries. Considered the first murder in hip hop, La Rock’s death came just five months after his group, Boogie Down Productions, released its debut album. It changed the way people looked at hip hop. “In some respects, rap music and violence seem to go hand in hand,” Scotty Morris, Sterling’s manager, said to The New York Times. “But it’s not the music itself, it’s the environment. Violence was here long before hip-hop.”

According to reports, Sterling and his entourage visited Highbridge Garden Homes in the Bronx to diffuse an altercation between some youths. After speaking to a group of boys thought to be involved, Sterling and company got back into their vehicle to leave. As they were pulling away, shots were fired, and bullets struck Sterling in the head and neck. He was then rushed to hospital, but, unfortunately, he died the following morning.

The next year, two teenagers, Cory Bayne and Kendall Newland, were arrested and charged for the murder. But during trial, they were later acquitted.

Tupac Shakur’s death still haunts the music industry

Sept. 7, 1996 is a date carved into the foundation of hip hop. On that night, Tupac Shakur, one of the world’s most popular rappers, was shot. He died six days later. Two years earlier, he had been shot five times and robbed while at a recording studio. After he recovered from that near-fatal encounter, Shakur publicly called out fellow rappers Sean “Diddy” Combs and Christopher Wallace (Notorious B.I.G.), which led to one of the fiercest feuds in rap history.

This is partly why many fans and conspiracy theorists alike believe that Shakur’s rivals were behind his murder. Others point the finger at Shakur’s manager at Death Row Records, Suge Knight, who was in the car with the rapper the night he was shot. But there’s another possible explanation.

On the night he was fatally wounded, Shakur and his entourage attended a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After the fight, there was an altercation between Shakur and rival gang member Orlando Anderson that appeared to have been captured on CCTV. After the fight, Shakur fled the scene. Shortly afterward, while stopped on the strip, a white Cadillac pulled up beside Shakur’s vehicle, spraying bullets and hitting the rapper four times. Despite many signs pointing to Anderson being the culprit, no charges were ever made because no one identified Anderson as the triggerman.

The big question about Notorious B.I.G.’s death

Despite the theories of his involvement in the death of Tupac Shakur, Christopher Wallace, the rapper best known as Notorious B.I.G., was never actually implicated by investigators. Regardless, after Shakur’s death, tensions between the East (Wallace) and West (Tupac) were at an all-time high in rap. When Wallace went to Los Angeles to promote his album, he voiced concern for his safety. It seems that he was right to be fearful.

On March 8, 1997, Wallace presented an award at the Soul Train Music Awards and was booed by the west coast audience. Following the show, the rapper and his entourage attended an after-party. Leaving the event afterwards, Wallace and company climbed into a two-vehicle convoy. Later, while stopped on the road, a Chevrolet Impala pulled up beside the vehicles and an unknown assailant shot Wallace four times, killing him.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Wallace’s mother, Voletta Wallace, suggested that the killer’s identity is known to them, even though no arrests were ever made. “I have a very good idea who murdered Christopher,” she said. “And I genuinely believe that the LAPD know exactly who did too. … It seems to me that it’s one giant conspiracy, and someone is definitely being protected somewhere down the line.”

Who shot Jam Master Jay?

Some deaths in rap are more shocking than others, if only because the victims don’t match the crime. When DJ Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC fame was shot and killed inside a recording studio in 2002, people were surprised because Jay was a respected member of the community and seen as a positive role model in the rap industry. Yet, he appeared to be have been targeted by someone.

On Oct. 30, 2002, Jay was in a New York studio preparing for a session. According to reports, Lydia High, Jay’s receptionist, buzzed two men into the building. When the men entered, they ordered High to get on the ground. Jay then greeted the men, slapping hands with them, seemingly indicating that the DJ knew them. Just then, shots rang out. Uriel Rincon, Jay’s friend, was shot in the leg, and Jay was hit with a fatal shot in the back of the head.

Though there were four witnesses in the studio that survived, none were able to identify the shooters. With nothing to go off of, police investigators saw the case go cold. But the streets still talk, and many believe they know who the killer is. “Honestly, I think the police know what happened but they just don’t want to see justice done,” says Olivia Jackson, a neighborhood resident (via MTV). “I know who killed him because I’m in the streets. If I know, then I’m pretty sure they do too.”

Street rumors of Mac Dre’s death

Before he died, Andre Hicks (aka Mac Dre) never became a mainstream rapper, but he did leave his mark on the industry. In late 2004, after performing a show in Kansas City, Hicks and the van he was riding in was attacked. The rapper was shot in the neck and killed. When police approached witnesses and friends of Hicks to put together information, no one was willing to cooperate (via SFGate). Some of the rapper’s entourage even pretended they didn’t know Hicks.

With nothing to go off of, police made no arrests, but they did follow up on some rumors. The most prevalent whisper was that Anthony “Fat Tone” Watkins, a Kansas City rapper, was responsible. “Every shooting that happened (in Kansas City), you would get calls saying, ‘Fat Tone did it, Fat Tone did it.’ His name always came up,” said Detective Everett Babcock. Still, police followed up on the talk. In the end, Watkins was thought to be innocent, but rumors still circulated the streets.

“I told him we expected retribution,” Detective Babcock said. “He said, ‘I’m watching myself.'” Months later, in May 2005, Watkins was discovered dead in Las Vegas from bullet wounds. The shooter, Andre “Mac Minister” Dow, who was later caught after a 10-month manhunt, admitted that he shot and killed Watkins “to avenge Hicks’ killing.” So, it’d appear that Watkins died for a shooting in which he was never even named a suspect.

Lack of Proof

After DeShaun Dupree Holton — better known as Proof —was shot and killed at Detroit’s CCC club, police investigators determined that the rapper, while in an altercation with Desert Storm veteran Keith Bender Jr, pistol-whipped and then shot Bender, as reported by The Guardian. Allegedly threatening to shoot the man again, Proof was then reportedly shot in the back of the head by Bender’s cousin and the club’s bouncer, Mario Etheridge. Both Bender and Proof died from their injuries.

Yet several witnesses claimed that, during a fist fight between the two, bullets started flying, but neither Proof nor Etheridge initially had guns. H. Mack, a friend and witness of the events, told The Guardian, “The fight wasn’t just the two of them, everyone in the club was involved. Guns started goin’ off. P hit the guy, and then his cousin Etheridge fired shots into the ceiling. I do not believe P shot the man.”

An anonymous witness recalled that, after the crowd noticed Proof and Bender had been shot and were laying lifeless, everyone scrambled outside. According to the witness, “A few minutes later, [Proof’s body] was deposited outside the club’s back door, his jewellery and money gone.” To complicate matters further, long-time friend of Proof and witness that night Mudd, said, “I found out that Proof and Keith Bender were at Osborne [high school] together. … It almost seemed like this was some high-school grudge s**t.” Whatever the cause, this shooting may not have been as simple as the police reports made it seem.

Looking for evidence in Big L’s killing

Even though Big L (real name Lamont Coleman) only left behind one completed album, he’s often considered one of the greats in hip hop. Tragically, on Feb. 15, 1999, a 24-year-old Coleman was gunned down in a drive-by shooting not far from where he grew up in Harlem, N.Y. A few months later, police arrested Gerard Woodley for the murder (via New York Daily News).

Woodley, an old friend of Coleman and his brother, Leroy “Big Lee” Phinazee, was believed to have had a grudge against the latter after they’d had a falling out. Woodley reportedly wanted revenge. With Phinazee in jail, however, Woodley is said to have enacted his revenge on Coleman instead. Despite police having a motive for Woodley’s crime, they were forced to release him from custody by order of the Manhattan District Attorney after little evidence was found and not enough witnesses came forward to testify against the accused.

Then, in 2016, Woodley was killed in an unrelated incident. Though police believe the two shootings to be unrelated, Woodley’s brother, Thomas Riley, “suspects a Big L fan may have killed his brother, saying there’s an abundance of chatter online fingering Woodley as the rapper’s killer,” as reported by  the New York Daily News.

Possible jealousy leads to the death of Stack Bundles

Stack Bundles may not be the most mainstream name in rap, but hip hop fans knew him well during his meteoric rise through the ranks. The rapper, whose real name was Rayquan Elliot, had his climb to fame cut short in 2007, however, when he was shot and killed outside his apartment complex in Queens, N.Y. (via The New York Times). After coming home from a night out, Elliot was gunned down before he could reach his apartment.

Though no arrests were made, the rapper’s family believes that jealousy within the neighborhood led to his death. The warning signs were there. A month before his murder, Elliot’s Porsche was vandalized. Others whispered about groups being envious of Elliot’s growing popularity as well. Still, after no new evidence came out, police interest in the case waned.

Then, in 2015, a rapper named Lionel “Chinx” Pickens was shot and killed. Since Pickens was a long-time friend of Elliot’s, some, including Elliot’s brother Ronald Ulmer, believe the murders were linked. “I really think they could be related,” Ulmer told the New York Daily News. “They were tight. They were a crew. And I just think if a person commits a crime as harsh as killing, and they think they got away with it, they will surface and do it again.”

A big feud ended with the death of Lil JoJo

Joseph Coleman, a rapper who went by the stage name Lil JoJo, was shot dead in the streets of Chicago in 2012. His death is believed to be the result of a gang rivalry and rap feud, as reported by The Guardian. In the public eye, the feud started when another rapper, Keith Cozart (aka Chief Keef), gained popularity with his track “3Hunna,” which referenced his involvement in the Chicago gang Black Disciples (via The Daily Beast). Coleman, an alleged member of a rival gang, Gangster Disciples, decided to leverage that song and the gang rivalry to create a rap beef.

In his version of the song, “3HunnaK,” Coleman taunted the Black Disciples, chanting, “BDK,” which reportedly means “Black Disciple Killers.” On the afternoon of his death, Coleman posted a video of him and some friends allegedly confronting members of the Black Disciples on the streets. He then tweeted out his location and more taunts to the rival gang. Within a few hours, Coleman was dead, shot by someone in a Ford Taurus.

In the aftermath, Cozart, Coleman’s rap and gang rival, tweeted, “Jojo Wanted To Be Jus Like Us #LMAO.” He later claimed that his account had been hacked.

The sad story of Soulja Slim

When rapper James Tapp, aka Soulja Slim, was shot while on his mother’s front lawn in 2003, police believed they knew who did it: Garelle Smith. And they suspected that Smith was paid $10,000 for the murder. Yet pinning the crime on Smith proved to be incredibly difficult, despite Smith being known to police. When they brought him in for the murder, however, no witnesses would come forward. Over the years, Smith was accused of and arrested for three murders in total, but no witnesses came forward for any of them, so Smith was freed each time.

According to Tapp’s stepfather in an interview with Billboard, “envy of Soulja Slim’s swift rise might have motivated the killing.” If Smith was a hitman, as some believed, the question of who ordered the hit on Tapp is one that still has not been answered. Either way, Smith, the accused shooter, would eventually become a victim. In 2011, eight years after the shooting of Soulja Slim, Smith himself was gunned down. No arrests were made in that case either.

MLST CELEBRITY AND ENTERTAINMENT:DO YOU KNOW HER?

Jada Pinkett Smith is known for being one half of Hollywood’s most dynamic coupledom, but she’s much more than just actor Will Smith’s better half. Mother, step-mom, actress, businesswoman, and badass rocker are a few of the terms that can be used to describe this multi-talented star.

Sure, she may not have a résumé that’s littered with blockbuster hits, but Pinkett Smith has made some pretty notable appearances in popular movies, including Magic Mike XXL, The Nutty Professor, The Matrix Reloaded, and Ali.

However, her real life is far more alluring than any film in which she’s appeared. How many entertainers can say they’ve battled multiple addictions and fended off self-destructive thoughts, all while nurturing one of the longest-lasting marriages in Hollywood? She’s managed to navigate her way through life with style, grace, and the unwavering determination to become the best version of herself by any means necessary. This is the untold truth of Jada Pinkett Smith.

Being an A-lister isn’t her thing

She has flexed her acting chops in a series of memorable movies, including her role as Ronnie in 1993’s Menace II Society and as Annie in the 2004 film Collateral. Pinkett Smith’s appearances in motion pictures have run the gamut from earthy and sensual characters to dangerous, hardcore criminals, and there’s no doubt that she has it in her to become one of the entertainment industry’s most sought-after actresses…if only that were her ultimate goal in life.

“[My husband] Will could never understand why I didn’t want to be the biggest star in Hollywood. But I never wanted that,” she told the Independent. “I just feel blessed to be able to do what I love and to do it when it works for me.”

Despite her lackadaisical approach to her acting career — which some would describe as stagnant — she’s still a household name. Pretty impressive, right?

Tupac Shakur gave her the ‘most disgusting kiss’

One relationship from Pinkett Smith’s past that has been at the center of tabloid fodder is her friendship with the late rapper, and her Baltimore School for the Arts classmate, Tupac Shakur. The media loves to paint their friendship as a romantic love story, but Pinkett Smith insists there was no hanky panky going on between her and the “California Love” artist.

“A lot of people try to figure out my relationship with Pac. That was, you know, a huge loss in my life,” she said during an episode of her Red Table Talk Facebook Watch series.

During an interview with the Howard Stern Sirius XM show, she dug even deeper into their mysterious friendship. Pinkett Smith said she and Shakur weren’t even physically attracted to each other. She forced him to kiss her one time, which she described to the shock jock as being “the most disgusting kiss” for the both of them.

She gave up her career and lost herself

Considering her rough upbringing, Jada Pinkett Smith was convinced her adult life would be far from picture-perfect. “I never thought about being married or having a family. I didn’t know anything about that because I came from a single mom so I always thought I’d be a single mom and have a career,” she said during VH1’s Dear Mama event (via People magazine).

Upon marrying Will Smith, she instantly became a step-mom to his son, Trey, from his first marriage. Later, they would add to their family by welcoming their son, Jaden, and daughter, Willow. Despite being married to a successful actor and raising three wonderful children, Pinkett Smith felt unfulfilled. During an episode of Red Table Talk, she was asked to name the biggest loss in her life, and she answered, “myself.” She then admitted, “When you realize that you’ve lost yourself, that’s like devastating. It’s like, ‘How do I get myself back?'”

She went on to tell her mom, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, and Willow that raising children, working on her marriage, and fostering her professional career was difficult. “That’s been my life for the past 20 some years, battling and rearing,” she said. “Giving up my career to raise my children, that was a battle.”

As her daughter thanked her for the sacrifices she made, Pinkett Smith replied, “I would not change it. I love my family. Don’t get that wrong. But I got lost along the way.”

Living with an addict

When she was a kid, Jada Pinkett Smith realized her mom was addicted to heroin. “I could tell when my mother was high. She couldn’t make it on time to pick me up from school. Or, she’s nodding off, falling asleep in the middle of something,” the actress recalled during an episode of Red Table Talk.

Looking back on her traumatic childhood, she told the Daily Mail, “I’d be terrified if I had to raise my kids in the environment I grew up in. When I look at them, I see them flourishing at such young ages and I wish to God I could have had the luxury to sit back and think, ‘Mum, I want to go out and get my vocal lessons today because I have this new song that I want to write.'”

Instead, Pinkett Smith’s childhood thoughts were full of sadness and despair. “What I had to think about was, ‘Oh man, I wonder what I’m going to eat tonight because there’s no food here. How am I going to get to school? And is my mum going to be OK today? Will this be one more day she survives her addiction?’ That’s the kind of stuff I had to think about at 11.”

Battling multiple addictions

Her mother wasn’t the only one who battled addiction. Pinkett Smith also fell into rough times. “Alcoholism and drug addiction runs through my family and I had my own addictions I had to get over. It just made me realize that really great people just get caught up,” she said during a revealing moment on Red Table Talk. “My sort of addictions jump. They jump around.”

As far as abusing alcohol, the accomplished actress said she finally realized she had a problem during a binge. “And I was like, ‘Now hold up. You’re in this house by yourself going onto your third bottle of wine? You might have a problem,'” she said, recalling the event.

Alcohol and drugs weren’t her only vices: “When I was younger, I definitely think I had a sex addiction of some kind, yes, that everything could be fixed by sex. You know what I’m saying?”

Thankfully, Pinkett Smith found it rather easy to go cold turkey to kick her habits, and she finally came to terms with her addictions. “I am a binger, and I always have to watch myself and I can just get obsessed with things,” she admitted.

Celeb divorces keep her marriage alive

Many people take one look at Pinkett Smith and her husband and immediately tag them as “relationship goals.” They’ve managed to weather many storms, and as the years go by, their marriage appears to get stronger and stronger. One way Pinkett Smith has managed to keep her union from unraveling is by practicing the art of forgiveness. Oh, and “nice outfits and high heels.” Her words, not ours!

Another tactic involves studying the failed marriages of Hollywood cohorts. Her husband told the New York Post that whenever a celebrity couple breaks up, he and Pinkett Smith “go and find out why.”

“With Bruce [Willis] and Demi [Moore], we spent hours talking to them,” Will said. “And Tom [Cruise] and Nicole [Kidman] — hours, just trying to understand what happened.”

It sounds like a rather heartless way to keep their own marriage from bursting at the seams, but it seems to work for them, so who are we to judge?

She had some ‘really down days’ after giving birth

Don’t let her uber-rich, extravagant lifestyle fool you. Celebrity moms have it just as bad as the rest of us, according to Pinkett Smith. The superstar told Parents magazine: “All moms struggle. Celebrities just know how to conceal it.”

Come to find out, she was speaking from experience because she reportedly had a really tough time after giving birth to both Willow and Jaden. “While motherhood is a beautiful thing, it’s traumatic to the body and the mind. I had some really down days after my kids were born,” she told the publication. “I thought I would never recover, even though I had a lot of help.”

She applied the principle of “fake it ’til you make it” to her everyday life, which helped her put on a brave face in front of the world. “The acting comes in handy,” she stated. “We can pretend everything is great even if it isn’t.”

Her husband’s ‘sexiest’ secret

Sometimes, Jada Pinkett Smith goes a bit overboard when it comes to sharing details about her personal life, such as the time she told Shape magazine (via E! News) that she and Will got freaky in the back of a limo on their way to the 2010 Academy Awards. “We started kissing passionately, and the next thing I knew, well, let’s just say we missed the red carpet and I ended up with almost no makeup on,” she recalled. Okay, fantastic. Moving on…

As cringeworthy as her stories regarding their sex life can be, she balances it all out by letting us in on the sweet and romantic moments. On one occasion, she shared a gorgeous photo on her Facebook account. In the pic, she’s lying in bed with her bare back on full display, and the only thing she appears to be wearing is an intricate gold necklace dangled around her neck.

She captioned the photo: “I discovered the sexiest secret the other day. My husband takes pics of me in my sleep. He has a whole stash he revealed to me and I really enjoyed getting a glimpse of myself through his eyes. I had to share one with you guys;) Life is art. Life is beauty.”

Swoon!

A time of ‘deep despair’

There were a few times when Pinkett Smith was met with “such deep despair” that she considered taking her life, she told NBC’s Megyn Kelly Today (via E! News). “I wish somebody had told me that it’s going to be OK,” she said. “You know, we’re going to have obstacles. You’re going to have difficult times. You’re going to have really dark times, you know? But just understand, keep stepping. Because life starts to reveal itself to you, and the light will come. Keep stepping.”

Her past suicidal thoughts also became a topic of discussion in the aftermath of the suicides of television personality Anthony Bourdain and fashion designer Kate Spade. Pinkett Smith took to her Instagram to share a photo of both celebs, along with a caption that read, in part, “With the suicides of Kate and Anthony it brought up feelings of when I was in such despair and had considered the same demise…often. In the years I spent towards my healing, many moons ago, I realized the mind and heart can be extremely delicate without the foundation of a formidable spirit.”

If you or anyone you know is having suicidal thoughts, please call or chat online with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

The real deal with the turbans

While taking a shower one day, Pinkett Smith pulled out “handfuls of hair.” She told an episode of Red Table Talk, “It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking with fear.”

She decided to cut her hair, but numerous medical test came up empty for the cause of her alopecia. She suspected it was triggered by stress. “I really had to put it into a spiritual perspective, like the higher power takes so much from people. People are out here with cancer. People have sick children. I watch the higher power take things every day,” she said. “The higher power takes so much from people… and, by golly, if the higher power wants to take your hair. That’s it?”

Her hair loss explains why she began rocking colorful turbans out in public. “When my hair is wrapped, I feel like a queen,” she said. And she looks like one, too!

A ‘European’ way of life

Instagram

While chatting with the Independent about her role in the naughty flick Magic Mike XXL, Pinkett Smith talked about her dream of America opening more topless beaches. She added, “We don’t do all that taking shirts off at the beaches over here, but I tell my kids, ‘It’s OK, it’s just breasts.'” She went on to say she has “more of a European approach in my house.”

It’s no secret her children, Willow and Jaden, have alternative and sometimes bizarre ways of thinking, which many blame on Pinkett Smith and her husband’s relaxed parenting style. This makes it even more plausible that she’s really taking her “European approach” to heart and letting her girlies hang loose in their 25,000-square-foot Malibu, Calif. compound, but we’ll never know for sure.

One thing’s for certain, she’s not shy about baring it all when she’s away from home. Case in point: the picture on the right shows her soaking up the sun and relaxing topless during one of her many family vacays!

I now pronounce you life partners

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith are one of the few Hollywood couples who’ve managed to beat the odds, but whatever you do, do not refer to them as husband wife. “We don’t even say we’re married anymore. We refer to ourselves as ‘life partners,’ where you get into that space where you realize you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life,” Will told TIDAL’s Rap Radar podcast (via E! News).

So how does that work? Well, according to Will, their relationship has “no deal breakers” — meaning, they’re in it for the long haul. “There’s nothing she could do — ever — nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support till death, and it feels so good to get to that space,” he said.

This should put an end to those pesky divorce rumors. Look up “’til death do you part” in the dictionary, and you’ll find a picture of these two!

15 BASIC STEPS NEEDED TO FIND A LASTING SOLUTION TO LIFE’S CHALLENGES.—(4 MINUTES READ).

www.Mlst.blog

It is not strange that life’s challenges are as real as life itself. It is a reality that accompany every life that is existing on earthly pedestal within a space of time.

Often times, we find ourselves cornered in, confined and cocooned with several abortive efforts and trials thoughtfully and carefully designed and orchestrated to dash out of the solitary confinement of life’s challenges that have nothing than struggles, regrets, wailing and gnashing of teeth.

We tried immensely to source for solutions by trying our best to rush out and break the walls and bricks of imprisonment and challenges placed and forced on us by depending on the flow and surge of our adrenaline to rush and pull down the boundaries of the abyss of problems and challenges down.

This usually leads to futilityand frustration that needs only the beauty of patience, time and perseverance for a solution to emerge.

Though we dashed…

HOW DO YOU REMEMBER THE DEATH AND RESSURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST?—(3 MINUTES READ).

www.Mlst.blog

Our connectivity with divinity is marred, mauled and destroyed when we are grossly enmeshed in sin.Our relationship with God suffers setback when sin is in place.

God stays off when we spend our life wallowing in iniquity.

jESUS CHRIST 2

The presence of God in our life simply connites the presence of grace. When God stays off, grace simply stays off.Likewise when sin stays, grace leaves. The enemy of grace is sin.Sin and grace cannot be yoked together by any standard, principle, idealogy and philosophy.

When one stays, the other must leave or disappear—Romans 6 vs 1-23.

Just as darkness fizzle out when light appears, grace also disappear when sin appears.

The rememberance of the death and ressurrection of Jesus Christ is incomplete without the desire to live a righteous life. The purpose of celebrating Easter is to give all mankind grace to overcome the stronghold of sin through salvation.

A meaningful Easter will be obtainable when you take your mind…

MLST ARTICLES: Celebrating Motherhood.—(5 Minutes Read)

www.Mlst.blog

MOTHERS ARE GOLDEN.

All the treasures of the earth have been exploited with probably little that are yet to be discovered and explored.

It was on these treasures that the wealth and affluence of the world we live in are built.

Each day pass us by with memories of the past being a blessing to us or a burden to us.

While we laugh at the blessings of the past and while we look ahead to the blessings of the future, while we gnash our teeth at the burden of the past and while we are careful in preventing the future from not becoming a burden,
we have little or no time wallowing in the regret of the past.

This put a responsibility on us to spend ample moments of our life celebrating and basking in the euphoria of the moment.

Even though, the world has many reasons and dates…

MLST CELEBRITY AND ENTERTAINMENT:THE SUPERIOR KIM

Kim Kardashian: Today, you can’t really go anywhere or do anything without hearing the name. As one of the most famous women in the world, Kardashian has not only amassed a large enough fanbase to sustain a successful career in the public eye, but she’s also attracted a few haters.

It’s not just average, non-famous people who’ve amassed a distaste for the Kardashian sister. She’s earned a few Hollywood haters as well — and she knows it. In fact, as the true businesswoman she is, Kardashian figured out a way to turn the hate into profit. In February 2018, Kardashian unveiled three new Valentine’s Day-inspired fragrances with a social media post showing who would receive each complimentary fragrance. Most recipients, like Kylie Jenner for example, made sense, but true Kim fans knew one column was super tongue-in-cheek. It included people like Taylor Swift and Piers Morgan, who haven’t been shy about their dislike for Kardashian.

So what other celebs can’t stand Kim Kardashian? The list is pretty extensive.

Amber Portwood

One of Kardashian’s earliest feuds dates back to 2011 when she upset a couple young mothers from MTV’s Teen Mom. According to E! News, Kardashian wrote a negative post on her blog about teen pregnancy rates, blaming Teen Mom in particular for “making teen pregnancy seem cool in the eyes of young girls.” Kardashian wrote, “The kids from these shows are all over the news, even on the covers of magazines, and have been become almost like celebrities, but girls, these are not people you should idolize!”

One of the “kids from those shows” didn’t let Kardashian talk down on them without consequence. “Last time I checked, Kim Kardashian had a sex tape floating around on the internet and I’m pretty sure she made a lot of money off of it,” Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood told E! News. “She made a sex tape when she was younger and she wants to bash the girls on Teen Mom?”

Portwood does has a point…

Piers Morgan

In October 2016, British journalist Piers Morgan wrote an open letter to Kardashian in the wake of her awful Paris robbery when five men tied her up and robbed her at gunpoint. Though he wrote that he initially liked her after interviewing her in 2011, his feelings toward her had been skewed. In the letter, Morgan wrote that something about Kardashian had “changed” since the moment he first met her. “You grew slowly coarser and snarkier, and started bombarding the world with regular naked selfies,” he accused. “Claiming, absurdly, they were promoting feminism and ’empowering women.'”

But it wouldn’t be the last time he’d go after the reality star. In January 2018, Morgan claimed on Good Morning Britain that “time should be up for Miss Kardashian” after she posted a topless photo on Instagram. He addressed the photo on his personal Twitter account as well, asking Kardashian to “put them away.”

Unsurprisingly, Morgan happened to later be one of the recipients of Kardashian’s Valentine’s Day gifts in February 2018 — the only male to make the list. He responded by joking that he’s created a fragrance of his own called Provocateur by Piers which has “an aroma that could kill a thousand mules from a thousand yards” that he planned to send to Kardashian.

Chloe Grace Moretz

Actress Chloë Grace Moretz, who thus far in her career has managed to remain pretty drama-free, got into it with the Kardashian family in March 2016 when Kardashian broke the internet yet again when she posted a fully nude mirror selfie. Like most things Kardashian does, the photo created a flurry (or, more accurately, a blizzard) of replies — including one from Moretz. “I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than our bodies,” Moretz tweeted to Kardashian. Not one to let the shade go unnoticed, Kardashian responded by tweeting out, “Let’s all welcome [Moretz] to Twitter, since no one knows who she is.” Ouch.

A few months later, Moretz revisited the beef with Kardashian in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that she had “regrets” about giving Kardashian attention but not about what she actually said. “I realized that being the most opinionated and loud person in the room is not always the most impactful,” she told the publication.

Sharon Osbourne

Kim Kardashian’s revealing March 2016 selfie also gathered the attention of The Talk host Sharon Osbourne, who went so far as to recreate the photo herself in support of Kardashian, hashtagging the word “liberated.” However, while Osbourne’s photo is still up, she seemed to go back on her statement in 2017 when she berated Kardashian for her revealing photos. “Kim says she’s doing everything in the name of feminism, but that’s not feminism,” she told The Telegraph. “Those girls live off their bodies, half of LA has been through them, and everything they do from the sex tape to the plastic see-through dresses and the gym wear is about sex, not female progress.”

In response, Kardashian told E! News that she never posted the photo “in the name of feminism.” Instead, she said she posts body-baring shots because, she said, “… I like how I look and I feel proud when I’ve lost all this baby weight and I post it because I feel like posting it and I feel powerful.”

Bette Midler

Kardashian’s nude mirror selfie was so controversial that even the iconic Bette Midler weighed in on it. “Kim Kardashian tweeted a nude selfie today. If Kim wants us to see a part of her we’ve never seen, she’s gonna have to swallow the camera,” Midler joked on Twitter. At first, Kardashian commented back with a joke of her own, asking Midler to “send nudes” of her own even though it was “past [Midler’s] bedtime,” ending the tweet with “#justkidding” for good measure.

Just a few minutes later, however, she followed up with a slightly more sinister tweet. “Hey @BetteMidler I really didn’t want to bring up how you sent me a gift awhile back trying to be a fake friend then come at me,” Kardashian wrote. But Midler didn’t let it end there. “I never tried to fake friend you. Looks like anyone can take a selfie but not everyone can take a joke,” the actress and singer responded.

Pink

If you think three celebrities commenting on Kardashian’s single photo is a lot, just you wait — there’s more. Singer Pink also took to Twitter to shade Kardashian’s selfie, tweeting a photo of a note she wrote pertaining to women. “Shout out to all of the women, across the world, using their brains, their strength, their work ethic, their talent, their ‘magic’ that they were born with, that only they possess,” she wrote. “It may not ever bring you as much ‘attention’ or bank notes as using your body, your sex … but women like you don’t need that kind of ‘attention.'”

Soon after posting that tweet, Pink appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen where a fan asked if the tweet was in response to Kardashian’s picture, and Pink revealed that yes, it was definitely in response to that. “Honestly, she went in on Bette Midler, and if you go in on Bette Midler, you’re probably gonna hear from me,” she replied.

Miley Cyrus

Kardashian’s March 2016 nude photo also didn’t go over well with Miley Cyrus. Now, Cyrus has also posted her fair share of hotly contested photos, so you might think it’s odd that she would pick a fight with Kardashian for doing something she’s guilty of herself. But it wasn’t the photo exactly, that upset Cyrus enough to prompt her to create her own Instagram post addressing the issue. Instead, it was about how the photo turned into such a huge thing among so many different celebrity women. So naturally, instead of ignoring it, Cyrus got in on it herself.

Cyrus posted a Kimoji of Kardashian’s famous booty (clearly to let everyone know who she was talking about without actually posting Kardashian’s photo) along with a caption addressing the feud, calling those involved “tacky AF.” Asking the women to celebrate each other instead, Cyrus wrote, “Why don’t we overly (myself included) fortunate women come together and try to create and bring jobs to other women in desperate need of them so they can support not only THEMSELVES but their families.”

Lindsay Lohan

It’s not just nude selfies that get Kardashian in trouble with other stars. In 2018, Kardashian posted a series of photos of her wearing her hair in braids — a style traditionally attributed to African women. But instead of mentioning and crediting the ‘do’s traditional roots, Kardashian named actress Bo Derek (who wore similar braids in her film 10) in her caption. This, of course, catapulted a series of think pieces debating whether or not Kardashian was guilty of cultural appropriation, something she and her sisters have been subjected to more than once.

It also caught the eye of Lindsay Lohan, who commented on Perez Hilton’s repost of Kardashian’s photo. “I am confused,” Lohan simply wrote. Clapback queen Kardashian was quick to respond. “You know what’s confusing,” Kim typed back. “Your sudden foreign accent,” poking fun at Lohan’s strange new accent (which Lohan says is due to all of the languages she’s trying to learn).

Taylor Swift

Kardashian’s feud with Taylor Swift is extensive, so it’s no wonder the pop star ended up on Kardashian’s list of enemies. The details behind their beef are intricate, dating all the way back to that infamous moment when Kardashian’s husband Kanye West interrupted Swift during her 2009 VMA acceptance speech. Swift and Kardashian’s relationship has been a rollercoaster ever since, but it came to a head in 2016 when West dropped his song “Famous,” in which he references Swift in a decidedly unfavorable light.

According to Cosmopolitan, West took to Twitter (his account has since been deleted) to reveal that Swift gave her permission to include the lyrics in his song. In a June 2016 GQ interview, Kardashian backed up her husband by saying, “She totally approved that,” and revealed that she even had footage of Swift’s approval. Which, of course, we now know is the truth, because she posted that footage on Snapchat in 2016. As Swift is wont to do, she came back in 2017 with a song titled “Look What You Made Me Do,” which included lyrics that seemed like a not-so-subtle jab at Kardashian and West.

With a feud that’s now almost ten years strong, something tells us these friends will never, ever get back together.

Janice Dickinson

Most people would consider Kim Kardashian an entrepreneur, reality star, and model, among other things. Janice Dickinson is not one of those people. One of the original supermodels (or, according to her, the person who coined the term “supermodel” in the first place), Dickinson took issue with Kardashian and West’s 2014 Vogue cover.

In 2006, Dickinson told the now-defunct Instinct Magazine, “I think I have a little bit of instinct on what it takes to be a model in today’s age.” Apparently, Kardashian and her family don’t have it. In 2016, she told The Tomorrow Show that Kardashian’s Vogue cover made her “want to vomit,” insisting, “They’re not models! They’re reality TV stars.”

But Dickinson didn’t only attacked Kardashian’s merit as a model — she also criticized her as a person in general. “Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian? S****, w***** and s****. That’s what they are,” she allegedly told Star Magazine (via Radar Online). Of Kardashian specifically, Dickinson said, “She’s a fraud, she’s a hoax.”

Naomi Campbell

Dickinson isn’t the only original supermodel who’s taken issue with Kardashian, particularly Kardashian’s appearance on magazine covers. Model Naomi Campbell appeared on The Morning Show in 2014, where she was also asked about her thoughts on West and Kardashian’s Vogue cover. Campbell seemed very hesitant to give an honest answer, doing her best to skirt around the issue while still giving enough information to viewers for them to realize she was definitely throwing some shade. “I do not want to comment,” Campbell said with a sly smile.

When asked why, Campbell explained, “I’m a fashion model, and I’ve been working for 28 years. When you get a Vogue cover, it’s a build in your career. It’s a stepping stone to achieve that,” suggesting in so many words (or, as she put it, in a “politically correct” way) that she doesn’t believe Kardashian earned her spot on that cover.

Anna Wintour

Not only did Anna Wintour elect to put Kardashian and West on the cover of Vogue, she also defended her decision to do so in that issue’s editor’s letter. “Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it,” Wintour wrote (via Us Weekly). “I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T.”

However, just two years later, Radar Online reported ahead of that year’s infamous Met Gala that Wintour threatened to ban both Kardashian and West from attending. Why? For taking selfies, of course. A source told Radar that Wintour was not pleased with Kimye’s selfie antics at the previous year’s Met Gala. “Anna Wintour sent a very specific letter to Kim and Kanye letting them know that they are forbidden from taking any selfies on the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala,” the source revealed. “If Anna sees that either Kim or Kanye take any selfies this year, neither of them will be invited back to the Met Gala next year.”

Apparently, Kardashian obeyed Wintour’s wishes as she appeared on the 2017 Met Gala red carpet (though West wasn’t by her side).

Beyonce

Considering Beyoncé and Kardashian often run in the same circles thanks to their Hollywood connections, similar entrepreneurial backgrounds, and rapper husbands who also happened to be good friends, you’d think they’d get along. As it turns out … nope.

Rumors about a Kardashian-Beyoncé feud started in 2014 when Jay-Z and Beyoncé didn’t show up to the Kardashian-West wedding. Theories about why they didn’t attend included busy work schedules and the fact that Rachel Roy (who Jay-Z is rumored to have cheated on Beyoncé with) was going to be there.

But in October 2016, feud rumors heated up again after a source told The Mirror, “Beyoncé has never genuinely liked Kim.” Um, ouch. “She’s mostly tolerated her because of their husbands’ friendship and mutual friends,” the source revealed.

Another source went so far as to tell Hollywood Life that Beyoncé “doesn’t respect” or “like” Kardashian. The insider said, “Beyoncé can’t stand the whole reality TV thing, and she thinks Kim would do anything for fame.” Harsh, Bey!

Wendy Williams

As a talk show host, it’s Wendy Williams’ duty to report on pop culture. Kim Kardashian happens to be one of popular culture’s mainstays, so it’s natural the two would cross paths. They did just that in the first couple months of 2018 when Williams made it clear that she’s not exactly a fan of Kardashian.

First, in January 2018, Williams jumped aboard the ever-popular “call Kim Kardashian out for her selfies” bandwagon. On an episode of The Wendy Williams Show, Williams addressed the series of Instagram posts that showcased a scantily clad Kardashian on her bed (the same group of photos that left Lohan “confused”). Williams surmised that the photos were an effect of West not paying attention to Kardashian and accused her of trying to remain relevant. She said, “It’s clear to me that you’re desperately, desperately trying to stay in the spotlight.”

Just a few days later in February 2018, Williams came after Kardashian again when the reality star’s youngest sister Kylie Jenner released her birth announcement video, during which Kardashian’s third child, Chicago West, was revealed for the first time. “This is Kylie’s moment to do Kylie’s thing and then Kim just showed up with the baby,” Williams said, calling Kardashian “selfish” for using the moment to showcase her daughter (via the Daily Mail).

Fabio

Getty Images

In 2016, Fabio — yes, THAT Fabio, the one who’s blessed the covers of many a romance novel — expressed his dislike for Kardashian in a very succinct, clear way. “Kim Kardashian is trash,” he told NY Daily News. Full stop.

Fabio, who had just become an American citizen, went on to explain that he felt the Kardashian family set a bad precedent for people, notably “the younger generation.” “There are a lot of people out there … who think that the only thing they have to do to become famous is make a [adult] video or be caught doing something nasty,” he said, undoubtedly referencing Kardashian’s infamous sex tape.

The model went on to reference how he was not a fan of the way the Kardashians have exploited the moments and people in their lives for television. “All the Kardashians care about is the media, money and being on camera,” he said. “It shows they have no sensitivity and they don’t know when to stop.”

Barack Obama

Former President Barack Obama has also pointed out the ways in which Kardashian’s popularity has affected American culture. In an interview with David Blum, Obama discussed how people like Kardashian and West have transformed what the American people see as being successful since his childhood. “We weren’t exposed to the things we didn’t have in the same ways that kids these days are,” Obama explained. “Kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.”

However, that didn’t stop West from claiming that he and Obama were so close that Obama calls the Kardashian-West house phone. However, Obama says that’s not the case. “I love his music, I think he’s incredibly creative… but I don’t think I’ve got his home phone number,” he joked to Jimmy Kimmel in 2015.
