Aluu community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State,Nigeria witnessed a jungle justice on the 5th of October 2012 resulting into the gruesome lynching of four young men who are bonafide students of the University of Port Harcout.
They are viz:
- Ugonna Obuzor
- Toku Lloyd
- Chidiaka Boringa
- Tekena Elkanah.
They are all accused of theft.
The video of this gory incidence were recorded and it went viral on social media but this was accompanied by wild condemnation across the globe.
Security agencies went into action and arrested some suspected culprits that participated in the mob action carried out against these four innocent souls.
Just yesterday,a high court sitting in Rivers State found three person guilty of murdering of four students of University of Port-Harcourt in 2012 with other four suspects discharged and acquitted by the court.
The four that were discharged and acquitted was based on the fact that prosecutor failed to prove the case of murder against the 4th,5th,6th and 7th accussed person beyond reasonable doubt but Justice Nyordee however found the 1st, 2nd and 3rd defender guilty of murder in 2012.
They were all sentenced to death by the court.
After almost five years, justice prevailed.
This is a long walk to justice.
Justice delayed is not justice denied.
This will serve as a lesson to others who are not enlightened enough to understand that life is sacrilegious and no one has been empoewered to take the life of others.
